On July 24, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Matos stopped a Flye moped on Millburn Ave by Whittingham for having no visible license plate. The driver didn’t have his driver’s license or registration. He then provided the officer with a false name. The investigation led to the arrest of Marcus Manning, age 58, of East Orange. A record check revealed he had two traffic warrants for his arrest out of Union NJ. He was charged with Hindering apprehension and multiple motor vehicle violations.
On August 1, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Kelly responded to a two-vehicle crash on Main St. at the intersection of Rector St. The investigation led to the arrest of Nicolas Nellegar, age 43, of West Caldwell for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and Reckless driving and later released to an acquaintance.
On August 2, 22025, Millburn Police Officer Palmer stopped a Dodge Charger on Millburn Ave/Vauxhall Rd for motor vehicle violations. The investigation led to the arrest of Rahman Livingston, age 48, of Newark for suspected DWI. He was charged with DWI and refusal to submit a breath test. He was later released to an acquaintance.
On August 8, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Kerwien responded to single vehicle crash on Kean Rd in Short Hills. The investigation led to the arrest of Roleo Marcelo, age 63, of Short Hills for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.
On August 8, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Bifano conducted a motor vehicle stop on a Honda Pilot along Kean Road as part of an investigation. As a result of the investigation, Bernard Pabrua, 50, of Union, NJ, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI). He was subsequently charged with DWI and released to the custody of an acquaintance.
In the early morning hours of August 15, 2025, Millburn Police received a report of a burglary that had just occurred in Springfield, NJ. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a red Hyundai Elantra. A short while later, Millburn Officers were responding to a burglary alarm on Cambridge Drive in the Short Hills. While in the area, officers observed the suspect vehicle, driving away from the direction of the alarmed residence. Millburn Officer Kerwien attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on White Oak Ridge Road. The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The stolen suspect vehicle traveled eastbound on Route 78 and exited into Springfield, where it struck a curb at the intersection of Meisel Avenue and Riverside Drive and became disabled. All five occupants fled the vehicle on foot. Officer Kerwien was able to apprehend one suspect at the scene. The remaining four suspects were taken into custody shortly after, with assistance from the Springfield Police Department. The driver, identified as Deshawn Bowers, 19, of Newark, along with four juvenile males, ages 16–17, also from Newark, were brought into custody and charged with Attempted Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, Eluding Police and Resisting Arrest. The investigation remains ongoing. The adult male was lodged In Essex County correctional facility, and the 4 Juveniles were brought to the Essex County youth House.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
